Cash prizes for logo, video contests

Lake County Masks! is offering cash prizes for logo designs and short videos promoting the use of facial coverings and other forms of social distancing.

Lake County Masks!

General rules

Anyone may enter, but prizes will be issued only to Lake County residents. There is no age limit, but children and youth under age 18 need parent or guardian approval to enter or claim prizes. All entries become the non-exclusive property of Lake County Masks and may be published, broadcast and/or distributed on social media without limitation. Entrants retain all rights to use their designs for other purposes.

Entries should be easy to read and understand. Creative use of characters such as a virus-fighting Mask-ador or Mask-eteer is encouraged. Add the text “Lake County Masks” or “LakeCountyMasks.com” to your logo if space allows, or come up with your own two- or three-word slogan. Most of all … have fun!

Just in case it’s not clear, this website is all about promoting facial coverings and other forms of social distancing, so designs and slogans that run counter to those goals will not fare well during judging. Entries containing profanity and/or depictions of violence against humans or animals will be disqualified.

Print/web logo or meme

Entries should proportioned approximately 4 inches wide by 3 inches (or less) high. They should be “camera ready” for use in print and online, so each entry should include two file formats:

  • CMYK or grayscale, 200-300 dpi resolution, .png format
  • RGB or grayscale, 72 dpi resolution, .jpg format

Although use of color is strongly encouraged, print logos should created as if they will be printed in black and white. Spot colors with high contrast will usually reproduce better than color gradients. Web logos and memes have no color limitations, but they are often displayed at small sizes so make sure any text is legible.
